Ultra-wideband Components


Ultra-wideband components are constructed using a novel ultra-wideband balun, which has been developed and patented by our company in 2007. This balun is a structure which converts signals from a microstrip line (unbalanced line) to a coplanar strip line (CPS; balanced line). The balun has proved its ultra-wideband operating frequency range from DC to over 40 GHz. Utilizing this balun, our company is currently developing a variety of ultra-wideband components including ultra-wideband double-balanced mixers, ultra-wideband frequency doublers, ultra-wideband signal inverters, ultra-wideband antennas, and other modules which integrates the above components. Thanks to excellent properties of this new balun, our ultra-wideband components have equal or better performance as compared with the conventional ultra-wideband balun products, but the implementation cost can be much lower. This ultra-wideband balun is regarded as a break-through in UWB antenna research and developments.
